iPickl S-8 Pro Paddle

What is the iPickl S-8 Pro pickleball paddle?+

The S-8 Pro is iPickl's flagship pickleball paddle, engineered to combine power, spin, and control in a single frame. It pairs a T700 raw carbon-fiber face with our proprietary Propulsion Core (EVA foam bonded to a polypropylene honeycomb) to deliver tournament-level performance at a price well below comparable premium paddles. It was designed on the court by real players and coaches — not in a lab.

How much does the S-8 Pro cost, and why is it cheaper than other premium paddles?+

The S-8 Pro is priced at $169 — well under the $200–$250 typically charged for premium carbon-fiber paddles. Because iPickl sells direct-to-consumer and skips retail markups and over-engineering, you get the same elite materials (T700 carbon fiber and the Propulsion Core) for roughly half the cost of many leading pro paddles.

What is the S-8 Pro made of?+

The hitting surface is a T700 raw carbon-fiber face prized for grip and spin, built around the Propulsion Core — a stiff, energy-returning blend of EVA foam and polypropylene honeycomb. Together they give the paddle its rare mix of power, control, and an oversized sweet spot.

How much does the S-8 Pro weigh?+

The S-8 Pro weighs about 7.9 oz — a balanced midweight that delivers power and stability without straining your arm. That weight keeps it forgiving for beginners while staying fast and responsive enough for advanced, competitive players.

Is the S-8 Pro good for spin?+

Yes. The S-8 Pro uses an upgraded grit texture on a T700 carbon-fiber face combined with a long ball dwell time, so you can generate heavy topspin and slice and shape your shots your way. Spin is one of the paddle’s standout strengths.

Is the S-8 Pro better for beginners or advanced players?+

Both. Its oversized sweet spot and forgiving 7.9 oz balance help beginners stay consistent even on off-center hits, while its power, spin, and control satisfy intermediate and advanced players who compete. It is a true all-level, all-style paddle.

How durable is the S-8 Pro?+

Very. The S-8 Pro’s stiff, celled core is built to last 3–5 times longer than many leading pro paddles, holding its pop and surface texture far longer. You get premium durability at roughly half the cost of competing flagship paddles.

How does the S-8 Pro compare to Joola or Selkirk paddles?+

The S-8 Pro is built with the same caliber of T700 carbon-fiber face and high-performance core found in flagship Joola and Selkirk paddles, but at a noticeably lower price. Players regularly compare its power, spin, and feel favorably while paying far less — which is why we call it the best value on the market.

Is the S-8 Pro suitable for tournament and competitive play?+

Yes. With its balanced 7.9 oz weight, large sweet spot, elite spin, and consistent control, the S-8 Pro is built for serious, tournament-ready play while staying approachable for recreational games.

Pickleball Paddles & Buying Guide

What are the best pickleball paddles in 2026?+

The best pickleball paddle is the one that balances power, spin, control, and durability for your game without making you overpay. The iPickl S-8 Pro consistently ranks among the best value paddles of 2026, offering a T700 carbon-fiber face and Propulsion Core — the same technology as $200+ paddles — for just $169.

Where can I buy pickleball paddles in Phoenix, Arizona?+

iPickl is a Phoenix, Arizona–based pickleball brand. You can buy our paddles and gear online at ipickl.com and have them shipped anywhere, including across the Phoenix metro area. We are based at 153 North Country Club Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85014, USA.

Are there pickleball shops in Phoenix, AZ?+

Yes. iPickl is a homegrown Phoenix, Arizona pickleball brand founded by former junior pro and coach Joel Ticknor. We design and sell high-performance paddles like the S-8 Pro directly to players locally in Phoenix and nationwide through ipickl.com.

What is the best budget or best value pickleball paddle?+

The iPickl S-8 Pro is one of the best value pickleball paddles available: it delivers premium T700 carbon-fiber performance and 3–5x the durability of many pro paddles for $169 — roughly half the price of comparable flagship paddles.

How do I choose the right pickleball paddle?+

Look at weight (a balanced ~7.9 oz suits most players), surface material (raw carbon fiber for spin and control), core construction (for power and a large sweet spot), and durability. The S-8 Pro is designed to check all of these boxes in a single, do-it-all paddle.

What weight should a pickleball paddle be?+

Most players do best with a midweight paddle around 7.8–8.0 oz, which balances power and control without causing arm fatigue. The S-8 Pro’s 7.9 oz weight hits this sweet spot, making it comfortable for long sessions and forgiving on contact.

Carbon fiber vs. fiberglass pickleball paddles — which is better?+

Raw carbon-fiber faces (like the S-8 Pro’s T700 surface) generally offer more spin, better control, and longer-lasting texture than fiberglass, which tends to be more powerful but less precise. For all-around performance and durability, carbon fiber is the premium choice.

What makes a pickleball paddle good for spin?+

Spin comes from a textured, gritty carbon-fiber face combined with a longer ball “dwell time” on the surface. The S-8 Pro’s upgraded grit texture and T700 carbon face are specifically tuned to maximize topspin and slice.

How long do pickleball paddles last?+

It depends on the materials and how often you play, but many paddles lose pop and texture within a season. The S-8 Pro’s stiff celled core is engineered to last 3–5 times longer than many leading pro paddles, so it stays tournament-ready far longer.

What is iPickl and who founded it?+

iPickl is a Phoenix, Arizona pickleball brand founded by Joel Ticknor, a former 5.0+ junior pro and head coach who also runs the Pickleball Reach nonprofit. iPickl builds equipment “on the court, not in a lab,” focused on real performance for real players — most notably the S-8 Pro paddle.
